Stephanie Shurland Mis Stephanie Shurland, the only Honorary Hilarian, has served as Principal of Bishop Anstey High School for 17 years. They were years of total and complete dedication, a rarity in the teaching community these days. She gave of hersel unselfishly and unheralded and her deep devotion to duty serves, to this day, as a great inspiration to all who came in contact with her. Miss Shurland cared and being a very sensitive and humble person, deeply conscious of her God and what was expected of her as a good Christian, upheld the ideals of our beloved Alma Mater under extremely adverse conditions. She trained and nurtured young ladies of whom we can be justly proud. The Old Hilarians have always enjoyed a very cordial and happy relationship with Miss Shurland both as Principal of the school and President of the Association, for which we are eternally grateful and appreciative. Thank you Miss Shurland for being "one of us". You will always have a special place with the Old Hilarians. |
