Winifred Rose

WINIFRED VALTRUDE ROSE

Having dedicated her life to social work, Winnie Rose was the first female Probation Officer in Trinidad & Tobago and the first female Chief Probation Officer in the Commonwealth. Miss Rose has been a foundation member of T & T's foremost welfare and service organisations, (The Mental Health Association, Business & Professional Women's Club, POS Soroptimist, to name a few.) and has been honoured by these as well as by the Child Welfare League and The Scout Association, among others. Today, well into her late seventies, Miss Rose continues to give of her time, energy and experience to these organisations in addition to the Sub-Committee of the National Aids Programme, the Anglican Church and Bishop Anstey High School.


Patricia Horsham

PATRICIA HORSHAM

M.B., B.S., F.R.C.P.(C), F.A.A.P, L.L.B

Lawyer and Paediatrician

Practising in Canada, Ms Horsham has specialised in the healing and protection of children. Dr Horsham, a foremost authority on child abuse and child sexual abuse, has published extensively with emphasis on the shaken baby syndrome and she continues to lecture on, inter-alia, the medico-legal aspects of child abuse. She has also lectured extensively in this field in Canada and the West Indies. Dr Horsham continues to contribute greatly to the well being of her alma mater.


Patricia Niles

PATRICIA NILES

B.A., D.D.S, M.P.H.

Dental Surgeon

She has successfully operated her general dental practice for over 20 years in the USA and is Chairman of the Department of Dental Hygiene, Howard University, College of Dentistry. Dr Niles is a member of several Committees in the College, and has been involved in consultancy on behalf of PAHO/WHO. As teacher and administrator, she has co-ordinated and conducted programmes and several workshops in the Caribbean, and North and South America. She still finds time to help in fund raising activities for her alma mater.


Corinne McKnight

CORINNE A. MCKNIGHT

B.A.

Holder of B.A. honours degree in Spanish, UWI, Jamaica, she taught for one year before joining the Foreign service of T & T. She obtained her post graduate Diplomas in International Relations at the London School of Economics and John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington D.C. She rose through the ranks in the Foreign Service, serving in London, Washington, and Brussels including the European Communities. In 1992, Mrs Mcknight became our Ambassadress to U.S.A. and Permanent Representative to the OAS and in 1993 our non-resident Ambassadress to Mexico. She has represented T & T at regional and international conferences in Europe, Africa, United States, Latin America and Africa.


Monica Barnes

MONICA BARNES

S.C.

Monica was admitted to practise at the Bar of Trinidad & Tobago, and was the first woman appointed as Chief Parliamentary Counsel of T & T. She went on to make history again when she was appointed Senior Counsel in 1979, another first for a woman. Miss Barnes was elected Vice President of the Commonwealth Legislative Drafting Association at the Commonwealth Law Conference in Hong Kong in 1983. Miss Barnes is actively involved in voluntary programme of rehabilitation and education at the Women's Prison. She is a member of several voluntary and professional organisations, and through it all, she still finds time to walk that extra mile for her alma mater.


Amoy Chang Fong

AMOY CHANG FONG

B.Sc.

Entered Bishop Anstey in 1956 as a Government Exhibitioner and left in 1962 with a Cambridge School Certificate and Higher School Certificate. She was a very active hockey player and was Sports Captain in 1962. Ms Chang Fong served as Secretary and President of the Women's Hockey Association and a member of WITCO Sport Foundation. She was also President to the Foundation in 1980. Ms Chang Fong earned a B.Sc. in Economics from University of Hull, England in 1967, and joined the Inland Revenue Department in the Ministry of Finance in 1967. She first entered the Central Bank in 1968 as a Research Assistant, moving up to Senior Manager, Bank Operations before serving two years as an Adviser to the Executive Director of the Board of the International Monatery Fund 1993 -1995. Miss Chang Fong was the first woman to be appointed Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, in August 1995.
