On the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Bishop Anstey High School, I am proud to be associated with the first edition of this commemorative calendar, which highlights a selection from the many accomplished Hilarians whose purposefulness in life is exemplary. They bear testimony to the precious work that our founder, Bishop Arthur Henry Anstey began in 1921.
Seventy-five years ago, his vision became a reality. That vision was to establish a school for girls which would afford them an education equal to that available for boys at that time. The Anstey spirit has inspired the schlarship and leadership of numerous women whose contribution nationally and globally shines impressively like diamonds. During this Diamond Jubilee year, it is fitting that we recognize and honour some of the many outstanding graduates of Bishop Anstey High School.
On behalf of the students and staff of Bishop Anstey High School, I thank the 75th Anniversary Committee, the Parent Teacher's Association and Stella Beaubrun for their hard work and dedication in putting this calendar together, in the hope that we touch all Hilarians, well wishers and friends across the globe.
To Rawle Henry our gifted graphic artist, for having the patience, Michael Bonaparte our beloved photographer, and Rhett Gordon our most patient printer, we give our deepest thanks.
